LEWIS CORBY Wins the Marion School Faire Cup

Since starting lessons with us we have seen Lewis grow into a confident performing guitarist/vocalist.  Lewis also passed his first Rock School exam in June of this year.

LEWIS CORBY -

"The winner of the Junior Boys Solo Singing Competition receives the Faire Cup and it lists winners from 1957. The competition is an audition, semi finals and finals. The audition was a set piece that we had to sing straight away. The semi finals were a set test piece that we had time to learn and get right. For the finals we had to sing the set piece and we could choose a piece ourselves. I chose Jason Mraz – I’m yours. The final was held in the school hall in front of teachers, pupils and parents. The Judge was Lyn Jamieson from the Waikato Rivertones. In the finals round Jaimie Bai and myself played our guitars and sang, so that gained us points and I owe many thanks to Stu Edwards, Andrea Hall and Rinah Juwano and for all the help they gave me."
