An introduction to strumming

We thought it would be a good idea to start the new year with a fresh batch of strumming exercises.  Some players have natural rhythm and some have to work at it.  Those who find they need more time on their strumming patterns need to realise it can be done so long as you stick to something for long enough.  In other words if you select 2, 3 or even 4 strumming patterns and really work on them - YOU WILL IMPROVE!

Below we have a basic example of strumming that you shold start with.  It uses an open position G Major chord shape.  For those of you who are learning chords you can click here for our chord page and use any of the shapes listed on the page.

D = Down strum   U = Up strum
